A special edition of Calvin Klein low rise trunks are hitting the shelves and here’s a chance to get yourself a pair.  These trunks represent three country colors; Brazil, Italy, and the USA.  On the front of each pair is a small country flag sewn in the in crotch inseam making them truly original Calvin Klein undies.

The event was launched to search for new models and featured 9 men hailing from 9 different countries:  England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Russian, Spain, and Sweden.  We’re being told that the winner will receive a 1 year contract to Select Model Management and a trip to South Africa.

On August 14, Calvin Klein will kick off a pan-European search for the brand’s next big underwear model to coincide with the update of its iconic Steel line. Apparently, for this American designer, Americans need not apply.

Here’s how the competition, called “9 Countries, 9 Men, 1 Winner,” will work: One man will be chosen to be the epitome of Calvin Klein billboard manhood from each of the participating countries, England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Russia, Spain and Sweden. Then a panel of judges — among them current billboard model Jamie Dornan and Calvin Klein execs — will pick the ultimate winner.

Granted, as women, it’s tough to complain about the whole competition — the idea of a search for the hottest man in Europe seems bound to yield eye-catching results, especially considering the brand’s reliable history of sexy men (from current billboard model Jamie Dornan to the days of Mark Wahlberg).But what gives with excluding the States?

The current Steel lineup (recognized by the signature steely waistband) comes in nine different colors, representing the various countries participating in the search.
